While this item occasionally appears as random loot in enemy camps, relying on chance can become incredibly time-consuming. The most reliable method is to purchase the item directly from specific food vendors scattered across the various districts.
One of the easiest places to secure this supply is from the food vendor located in the Santo Domingo district, specifically near the Megabuilding H4 area. Alternatively, you can search the Grand Imperial Mall in Pacifica or check the Arasaka Industrial Park for a guaranteed spawn on a crate. Stocking up on a few cans ensures you are fully prepared for the adoption process without having to backtrack later.
Locating the Secret Stray Cat
Once you have the required food in your inventory, fast travel back to V's primary apartment located inside Megabuilding H10. Exit your living space, turn immediately left down the hallway, and follow the corridor until it makes a sharp right turn. In this secluded alcove, you will discover a small trash can with a data shard containing feeding instructions tucked inside.
Right next to the trash container sits an empty plastic bowl waiting on the cold concrete floor. If you have the food ready, a contextual prompt will allow you to fill the bowl for the mysterious stray creature. After placing the meal, you must leave the immediate area or use the in-game time skip feature to advance the clock by at least twenty-four hours.
Completing the Adoption and Feeding Your Pet
